The Autumn Amble To Forges Les Eaux is a relaxed Motoring Tour, based in one hotel for 4 nights, after an evening crossing to France and one night in Ouistreham and a drive across rural Normandy. Open to cars of all ages, and indeed participants of all ages, let ERL show you the byways, villages, history and coastline of the very special part of France. Last day north via Arras to a final night at a Chateau Tilques, 4 star, near Calais.

Brief: Four nights in an excellent 4* Hotel, set in its own grounds with a Casino. Last night in a 4* Chateau with Michelin rated restaurant – then home on the short sea route from Calais.

Thursday 15th October – Check in Portsmouth at 13.45 for the 14.45 Brittany Ferry to Ouistreham. 18.00 Restaurant Dinner, included, on board. 21.30 Arrive Ouistreham, disembark and through Passport Control and drive for 1 mile to our overnight hotel, the Best Western La Mare O’Poissons. A 3* star with 37 rooms and good parking.
Friday 16th October – After breakfast drive via Pegasus Bridge, then on the D27 ad D45 to Lisieux for coffee and a visit to the Bsilique of Lisieux, one of France’s most important pilgrimage centres. Then via Lieurey and Bourg Achard and a ferry ‘cross the Seine to Duclair for a lunch stop. Continuing via Barentin, and the D44 and D919 to Forges Les Eaux and our hotel. Mileage 112
Saturday 17th, Sunday 18th, Monday 19th October – are all based at Forges Les Eaux. Visits out will included Gerberoy, one of France’s 100 best villages, Lyons la oret, Chateau Gaillard, V1 launch sites, and other notable sights that we shall arrange on the recce. All linked up by superb back road driving. At the end of every day’s drive our dinner in the Forges Hotel’s main restaurant is an excellent very large, hot and cold dishes buffet, with PLENTY OF VEGETABLES AND SALADS, and desserts, with wine, coffee or tea.
Tuesday 20 October – Heading north via Poix-de-Picardie to Airaines for coffee break. Then over the River Somme via Domart to Doullens and Arras for the lunch stop. After lunch visit to two famous WW1 Memorials – Vimy Ridge the Canadian Memorial and the Notre Dame de Lorette, the biggest French WW1 Memorial. We shall also visit the excellent Museum there (included). Then via Houdain, Therduanne to St Omer and to Chateau Tilques. Mileage 130
Wednesday 21 October – Via the Autoroute to Calais for check in by 09.45 for the 10.45 P&O sailing to Dover. Meet in the Club Lounge (included) for coffee and farewells before arriving at Dover at 11.15 (local time).

Return ferry Portsmouth – Ouistreham and Calais – Dover
Dinner in the ferry’s Restaurant on Thursday evening with wines
Half Board for all 5 hotel nights with wines, water and coffee/teas
